 2. 4x Scoring Champion

At this point any of Durant’s stats or awards centered around scoring shouldn’t surprise you, but this last one just might do it. During the 2009-10 season Durant became the youngest player (21 years, 197 days) in NBA history to win the Scoring Championship by averaging 30.1 ppg. Impressive, right? Well he didn’t just stop there.

He went on to become just the eighth player to win three consecutive Scoring Championships from 2010-12, before finally having his streak snapped by Carmelo Anthony in 2013. Durant quickly picked up where he left off though, winning his fourth scoring title in 2014. He currently sits tied for third all-time with four Scoring Championships.

Most Scoring Championships in NBA History

Michael Jordan- 10

Wilt Chamberlain- 7

Kevin Durant/Allen Iverson/Geroge Gervin– 4

While reaching Jordan’s record of 10 scoring titles might be impossible at this point, there is still a solid chance that Durant could reach Chamberlain’s 7. Look for Durant to at least move into sole possession of third on this list before his time is done. Hopefully this is something that he accomplishes in an Oklahoma City jersey.
