What a guy.

Five and a half seasons as the starting shooting guard in Oklahoma City will put you on the top-five list. But starting over James Harden? Now that’s street cred if I’ve ever seen it.

Poor Thabo went through the same ordeal Roberson has dealt with in his short career, but for SIX SEASONS. “Thabo can’t shoot!” “Scott Brooks is destroying the Thunder by not starting Harden!” Did I participate in that? Of course. But once you look at the situation in retrospect Thabo was exactly what the Thunder needed out of their starting shooting guard.

Thabo, like Roberson, wasn’t looking to score first. When you have Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook on your team you don’t NEED another scorer on the court. Sefolosha was the one elite wing defender during his time in OKC. And he wasn’t even as bad of a shooter as we thought! In his six seasons he shot above 35% from behind the line.

Obviously Thabo wasn’t perfect. Every position besides point guard and small forward has been filled with a role player since the Thunder’s inception, so every player on this list will have their flaws.

If Roberson and Oladipo stay, they will pass Thabo. But for now the player with the most starts at shooting guard in franchise history gets a little extra clout for this list.
