Now it’s superstar time. We all know how last season ended for Blake Griffin and the Los Angeles Clippers. Terrible. Chris Paul got hurt in the playoffs and they lost to the Portland Trail Blazers.

Blake Griffin punched his friend/equipment manager, got suspended, hurt his quad, never really completely healed, and season over.

The Clippers are on their last leg. Chris Paul and J.J. Redick are free agents after next season. Blake Griffin’s expected to opt out. This could be their last run at a championship together as a unit. If things go south for the Clippers and Blake Griffin opts out, the Thunder will have the best chance to land him.

The Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors rosters are full. The Spurs already have LaMarcus Aldridge. This leaves the Oklahoma City Thunder as the only championship contending team. The duo of Blake Griffin and Russell Westbrook will easily put the Thunder right back into the top 3 in the Western conference.

More from Thunderous Intentions

Because of this, the Thunder will sign Blake Griffin almost by default.

Blake Griffin is from Oklahoma City. He went to the University of Oklahoma. It will be his own personal homecoming.

This choice makes sense for both parties involved.

This will bring a new one-two punch to OKC.
