With Steph Curry’s contract up at the end of next season, along with, the possibility of Durant opting out his contract, the golden State Warriors could be forced to let Shaun Livingston go to resign those two superstars.

Livingston is arguably the best backup point guard in the league. He can spare Russell Westbrook many minutes during the regular season. He has shown that he has the ability to fill in and play big time starter minutes as well. This was most evident in Golden State’s first round series against the Portland Trailblazers last season when he started for an injured Steph Curry in the first 4 games winning 3 of them.

Livingston will slip under the radar even more this year with the addition of Durant. Shaun Livingston numbers are already nothing special at first glance and this season they will be even worse. His touches will be limited as he could be as low as the Warriors 6th or 7th scoring option and 4th in assist.

Some may see his decreased production next year and write him off. This works well for the Oklahoma City Thunder who can possibly sign him for very cheap next summer.
