Victor Oladipo has played solid for the Orlando Magic. The question is how does his game translate on a brighter stage. Playing for the young Orlando magic, who could not even make the playoffs in the eastern conference, will differ from playing alongside Russell Westbrook.

Many players have looked good on losing teams. Kevin Love played amazing for the Minnesota Timberwolves. Since Love has been with the Cleveland Cavaliers he has looked less than stellar. Trade rumors follow him around every season. He has not come close to resembling his Timberwolves days. At best he’s a spot up corner 3-point shooter who may get a few touches in the post.

Oladipo can face similar issues. While Oladipo is only joining one star instead of two, he still must adjust his game to play off of Westbrook. First, he’s going to play primarily off the ball. Second, Enes Kanter will steal some touches as he’s a legitimate post player who can score. Lastly, Oladipo will have a bigger spot light on him.

Oladipo was not a star in Orlando. He is an above average guard who can defend. If he is able to just maintain his Orlando level of play while improving his 3-point shot, he will be valuable for the Thunder. With the cap going up the Thunder could retain him and still have money for a max-contract caliber player.
