Last year, Steph Curry won his second straight MVP award. Once the Golden State Warriors started approaching the regular season wins record surpassing the previous record holder the 95-96 Chicago Bulls, it was a for gone conclusion Curry would win the MVP.

However, much has changed since last year’s regular season ended. Lebron returned glory to Cleveland by bringing a championship back to the city, Durant left the Oklahoma City Thunder, the San Antonio Spurs are another year older, and we’re already speculating about Blake Griffin’s possible free agency, which is still a year away.

With the landscape this season, the potential winner of the MVP award isn’t clear. This is the first season in a long time where there are legitimate cases for more than five players on why they have a shot at winning the MVP.

But, when we look at each situation closely we can come to a pretty good conclusion on who should win the MVP award this season.
