RELATED STORY: Is Steven Adams the second scorer OKC needs?

You know when you love something so much that you just want to be around it all the time? That’s my relationship with the song Bad and Boujee. From the first time I heard it, I never wanted to listen to anything else. I admit, I thought the song peaked too early. Offset’s verse was just so perfect that Quavo and Lil Uzi Vert just couldn’t match it. Then, I kept listening. And the more I listened, the more I realized that the whole song is a masterpiece.

I’m typically not one for trap music. Give me the lyricism of classic Eminem or present day Kendrick over one syllable drum rhymes any day of the week.

But this song is so catchy and so grimey and about so much stuff that I’ll never understand, that I just keep listening.

It’s also how I feel about Steven Adams.

The man has an infectious personality that you can’t help but enjoy. I want to listen to him speak 24/7. I want him to have his own reality show, so I know what life is like for him. I imagine that he spends his days wrestling bears and cuddling with alligators, but I need to know for sure.

I’d also imagine that Steven Adams isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. He was voted second most dirtiest player in the league by fellow players last year. He’s a bruiser in the paint who gets under the skin of just about every opponent. Remember when DeMarcus Cousins wanted to punch him?

In the video for Bad and Boujee, Migos and Lil Uzi Vert are in a hole in the wall diner. You know it’s a hole in the wall diner because there appear to be no padded seats. They are joined by beautiful women wearing a lot of jewelry. They too are wearing a lot jewelry, along with ripped jeans and blankets. They are eating ramen and fried chicken while sipping on champagne. This diner has a very diverse menu.

You’re not going to catch Steven Adams wearing so many diamonds that it’s a shocker, but he can now afford a nice haircut and some extra tattoos. He’s making that new money, yet he’s still the same ol’ Steven. A humble mate who doesn’t mind doing the dirty work for his star point guard.

Other Thunder Thoughts

*It’s so nice to have Cameron Payne back. Even when he doesn’t score, I feel 100% more comfortable with him on the court over Semaj Christon.

RELATED STORY: Is Cam Payne truly the answer?

*Really thought Billy Donovan missed an opportunity to play Payne and Russell Westbrook together late in the Chicago game. Westbrook came back in despite a comfortable lead, possibly to chase the triple double, and Payne came out. Sooner or later, these two will need to share the court together.

*Games should automatically end when Westbrook records a triple-double. Then we’d see some real stat hunting.

*The victory against Memphis might be the biggest win of the season. Especially when you factor in just how brutal the January schedule is. And am I crazy or did Westbrook trust his teammates in the final minutes?

More from Thunderous Intentions

*I’ve gone back and forth about trading Enes Kanter all season, but his improvements these past few weeks make me want to keep him. He’s not only much more aware on defense, but he’s much more aware on offense. Previously, teams could exploit him on defense and then smartly double him on offense when he has the ball in the post to force a turnover.

Combine those two things and you have a nearly unplayable player. Now, he’s not as much of a liability on defense, but it’s his passing out of the post that keeps him in the game. When a double comes, he’s picked it up and found the open man. He’s still a work in progress on both ends, but there’s no reason to think that he won’t continue to improve.
