Welcome to Views from OKC, Thunderous Intentions’ daily roundup of the best OKC Thunder stories across the web.
New to Views? Glad to have you here, and I hope you’ll make this a daily destination. Well, let’s get started!
Kendrick Perkins speaks up on his time in Oklahoma City
“That attachment was apparent on Wednesday when Perkins visited the Thunder’s shootaround and its game against the New York Knicks. He told his wife that he “shed a few tears” of happiness being back in OKC. When he was introduced during the game fans at Chesapeake Energy Arena gave him a long standing ovation.”
I joked in a recent Views column that the Thunder should consider bringing back Kendrick Perkins to teach toughness. Apparently that joke turned into a genuine idea, because big Perk was in attendance for OKC’s last game before the All Star Break. He may not have been the most talented player in the league, but Perkins had a role that couldn’t be replicated. And OKC really needs him to teach the attributes that can be replicated.
A similar idea to Views
“Jeff Hornacek on Westbrook: ‘Look at his eyes. That guy has that determined, ‘I am going to do it’ look in his face all the time,’ Hornacek said Tuesday, after practice at the Knicks’ training facility. ‘That is what you want as a coach. You see that and say, ‘OK, you know that guy is going out there, he doesn’t take plays off.’ I assume he is probably practicing that way. That is who he is.’”
I have a complaint with the good people of Thunder Nation. Royce Young, a very talented reporter, runs Daily Thunder for ESPN. In it, he has his “Thursday Bolts.” These weekly “bolts” get thousands of comments, while Views struggles to get one. People…we enjoy it when you give us feedback/talk about our team in the comment section. I realize we may not be as interesting as Royce, but we got takes for you too!

Can we take a moment and talk about how uncomfortable Domantas Sabonis looks at all times?
Here's Domantas Sabonis. Arvydas didn't make it, but he said his Hall of Fame dad is excited he's in the Rising Stars Challenge: pic.twitter.com/VCsSOmjODl

I highly doubt that Domas was ever allowed to speak with others as a kid. His life HAD to be strictly basketball. No other explanation makes sense.
