Westbrook and Durant prepare to play together again
“I hope not (because their rivalry has been so much fun to talk about and think about this season) and I also don’t think so (because Russell Westbrook does not seem like the Quick To Forgive type). I think (hope) we’re just getting to the rocky part of it.”
As much as I want something to pop off, I just don’t think it’s going to happen. If Russell Westbrook has shown us anything this season, it’s that he will never acknowledge pettiness. Russ may wear a shirt that says “Official Photographer,” but it is merely a fashion choice. He may avoid questions about KD, but it isn’t intentional. Russ doesn’t want a story out of it, so let’s stop trying to make it a story.
Sit back and realize how blessed we are
“Still, despite Durant’s departure, the Thunder is surviving, and appears destined to make it back to the playoffs once again. It may not be the level of success the franchise envisioned having this year and beyond behind a Durant-Westbrook combo at the top of the roster, but it’s proof that the plan the franchise had in place was a sound one.”
Seriously. Do you remember what happened to the Cavs when they lost LeBron? What about Orlando with Dwight? Or Denver with Carmelo? Trust me, I know it’s weird to root for a non-championship contending team. But at the same time we can’t expect to contend for championships every year. And this team is still fun to root for. So be happy.
Views from Twitter
Alright alright alright. I am not afraid to acknowledge this tweet a little bit. Seriously though. Why is Kevin Durant’s mom trying to ease the tension on social media? It’s such an obvious ploy to change the public perception of KD and I don’t like it. Does Russ’ mom even look comfortable in this picture? Not really. IDK. This all seems fishy to me.
Here’s the thing though. Russ is not going to show any inkling of ill will towards KD. Why would he? That would go against everything that Russ has said since the Decision Part Two. This whole time it has been a business and basketball decision; that’s not going to magically change once they step on the court.
