The complete breakdown of Thunder trade deadline
“Will the Oklahoma City Thunder address their publicized outside shooting needs at the eleventh hour of this year’s trade deadline? A definitive answer to this pressing question will crystallize today by 3 PM ET.”
On one hand I really want the Thunder to add a vet like Wilson Chandler. On the other hand I want them to add a young stud like Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. And then I remember that either way it’s probably not going to make a difference this year. That reason is why I only want OKC to make a trade; they need someone who can grow with this team, NOT someone who is going to leave after a season or two.

Remember Russell Westbrook in all of this…
“It’ll also be the first day of free agency, and Westbrook is one of a handful of players eligible for the new CBA’s “Designated Veteran” exception in which he could earn a reported $219 million over five additional seasons, a total and length of deal no team but the Thunder can offer. His current contract expires in the summer of 2018, when he has a player option to play for $30 million in 2018-19.”
Is it crazy to think that Sam Presti is going to consult Russell Westbrook on any trades? I think he should. If any player is tied to one organization it’s Russ, sorry LeBron stans. Westbrook is everything in Oklahoma City, and everything in the Thunder organization. We never thought KD was going to leave, but I’m fairly positive Russ is never going to leave. Make that idea official, and consult Russ on any trades.

He’s backkkkkkkkkkkk. Well not yet, but progress is being made. It’s been rough watching Westbrook play without Enes Kanter. They don’t play together much, but that’s the whole point. When Russ comes out he can rely on Kanter to keep a weak bench in contention; with Kanter gone we’ve seen too many blown leads.
I don’t want to read too much into this but I am. I don’t want Cameron Payne to be included in any trade unless the Thunder are getting a sure-fire prospect in return. If not, keep the kid around.
