Marcus Thornton:

Marcus Thornton was recently bought out by the Brooklyn Nets and could provide instant contribution for a team off the bench. Thornton was involved in the trade that sent Bojan Bogdanovic to the wizards.

Thornton’s impact with the Wizards was minimal, although he did average around 17 minutes a game. He averaged 6.6 points on 35% shooting from long-range.

You can never have too much scoring and the OKC Thunder could definitely use more of it. Thornton is a great shooter. Marcus a little on the smaller side for a traditional shooting guard, but makes up for that lack of size with a ruggedness and grit that has been with him since his time at Louisiana State University.

Oklahoma City could use him in a role similar to what they had in Randy Foye last season. Foye was given a little too much responsibility on that team, as he often served as the team’s back-up point guard.

Thornton most certainly won’t be asked to do that much, but he will provide the second unit with extra space and the ability to get hot from distance and change the flow of the game. Marcus is one of the best shooter on the market and would be a wise and respectable choice from Sam Presti as the OKC Thunder look to gear up for their playoff run.
