The OKC Thunder made a trade to bring Doug McDermott and Taj Gibson to the Thunder.  Due to the successful trade, three members of the Thunderous Intentions Team got together to discuss it.

Thunderous Intentions Podcast, episode 3 was recorded February 23rd. Host Cole Hixon was joined by Thunderous Intentions site experts Tamberlyn Richardson and Tony Heim.

Firstly, the OKC Thunder deadline deal with the Chicago Bulls had just occurred. Furthermore, the additions of Taj Gibson and Doug McDermott offered plenty of fodder to dive into.

Likewise, the loss of Russell Westbrook’s dance partner (Cameron Payne), Anthony Morrow and Joffrey Lauvergne was addressed.

With the OKC Thunder sending out three players and taking just two in return the group pondered if GM Sam Presti may still have work to do.

Especially relevant is the immediate impact of the trade deadline on the Thunder? Moreover, how would Coach Billy Donovan utilize the new players and the versatility gained via the trade. The podcasters also examined the remaining regular season schedule in terms of the stretch run . Because the Thunder sat seventh  on the day the trade occurred examined if the trade could result in movement.  Most noteworthy is the fact the five teams seeded third through seventh could see movement following the roster changes at the deadline.
