The Oklahoma City Blue finished up the week with a 2-1 record. Their lone loss came against the Sioux Falls Skyforce by a score of 100 to 108.

Shout-outs

There are a few shout outs to go around both for the team and individuals. Let’s first give a shout out to the team, the Oklahoma City Blue, for earning their largest blow out win of the season. The Blue beat the Salt Lake City Stars by 30 points on Saturday. Alex Caruso from the Blue rose up for that occasion scoring 23 points on 69% shooting from the field.

Next shout out goes to Daniel Hamilton, who put together a masterful performance against the Texas Legends. Hamilton flirted with a triple double with 32 points, 11 assists, and nine rebounds. The 21-year old guard/forward was the beneficiary of Reggie Williams being held out of that game.

Speaking of Reggie Williams, the reason he was held out of that game is my next shout out. Shout out to Reggie for earning a 10-day contract for the New Orleans Pelicans. The Pelicans are in desperate need for guards, and Williams impressed them enough for them to give him a shot. The work is far from over for Williams though, as he still has to fully prove himself on the NBA level.

A look at the week ahead

The Blue only have two games on the schedule this week. In fact, they have almost a week off from their last game. Oklahoma City faces off against the Iowa Energy on Friday in the second game of their five game home-stand.

More from Thunder News

The Oklahoma City Blue are 2-1 against the Energy on the season so far.  The difference between those games and this one is that OKC will be without their second leading scorer (Williams) from both of those games. Look for Alex Caruso and Daniel Hamilton to continue to prove that they are legit scoring threats. Also, the Energy sport the worst record in the league so the Blue should not have much trouble winning this one decisively.

Dakari Johnson thrusted into a leadership role

The Blue finish out the week at home against the Northern Arizona Suns on Sunday. They are 2-1 on the season against this squad and look to finish out their series record on the winning side. Dakari Johnson will have to come up huge in this game for his team to come out on top.

Dakari has been on a tear this season and clearly has his sights set on doing whatever it takes to make it to an NBA roster. The last time OKC played the Suns, they had Josh Huestis, Reggie Williams, and Semaj Christon. They all contributed in a huge way but Johnson had 20 points and eight rebounds in that contest. Dakari is most certainly looking to lead his team to victories as the lone 2017 D-league all-star on the team.
