It’s the end of the work week but the beginning of a new era for the Oklahoma City Thunder! As the roster changes (again), Heather’s weekly roundup brings you the the latest news.

Russell Westbrook is unstoppable

Following his 30th triple double of the SEASON, Russell Westbrook was named Kia Player of the Month for the Western Conference. In February, Westbrook averaged 33.4 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 10 assists per game. That’s a triple-double if you’re counting at home. I don’t know how much say KIA has in the whole MVP thing, but here’s hoping this helps.

LeBron James received the honor for the East.

There’s a new name to remember

Still trying to memorize the numbers of new Thunder players Taj Gibson and Doug McDermott? They’ve been on the roster just over a week, so that’s understandable. But it’s time to add one more to the list. In case you missed it, the Thunder signed guard Norris Cole to the 15th spot on the roster. Learn more about Cole, his background and what he brings to the team by checking out this profile.

From triple-double to diaper duty

Russell Westbrook announced this week that his wife, Nina Earl, is pregnant with the couple’s first child. In the caption of a photo he shared on Instagram, he wrote “5/2017.” Which likely means two things: his baby is due in May, and the postseason may be exciting for more than one reason.

Oscar Fever

As usual the Academy Awards were a pretty big deal. But did you know the Thunder held their own nomination event? A video shared on the organization’s Twitter account titled “Thunder Casting Chair” features players casting votes for the team hero, funny guy and tough guy. Check out the “winners” here:

Thunderous Intentions is a gold mine filled with entertaining and enlightening Oklahoma City Thunder content.

While there are plenty of articles to read and share, here’s this week’s highlight: “The Starting Dilemma – Alex Abrines or Victor Oladipo.”

Thunderous Intentions writer Sean Reece breaks down the pros and cons of Alex Abrines’ newfound starting position. Will it be short lived? Is it a temporary replacement while Oladipo rests his back? We may not know for sure, but Sean brings up some pretty good points.

In the meantime, mark March 10th on your calendar for Edition 10 of Heather’s Weekly Roundup. Enjoy your weekend!
