Russell Westbrook breaks 2,000 points in a season
Other Probable 2,000 Point Club Members
In the middle of November, there were 13 players who were averaging the numbers required to get to a 2,000 point season. This number has gone down to five who are putting up the numbers to comfortably join this club this season. Here are the four other players who should make it easily.
James Harden
James Harden is the second leading total points scorer on the season. He has 1,855 points and should record his fourth 2,000 point season. Harden is a special scorer but this shows how far back he is from Westbrook this season. His current scoring average will see him score 2,377.

Isaiah Thomas
Isaiah Thomas, the little man from Boston, has the chance to get to his first 2,000 point season this year. He has scored 1,771 points this season at 29.5 points per game. He has missed four games, meaning his current projected total is 2,302 points.
Anthony Davis
Anthony Davis has a chance to make his own bit of NBA history this season. Only three teams in NBA history have not had a player score 2,000 points in their franchise history. These three teams are the Charlotte Hornets, the Memphis Grizzlies and the New Orleans Pelicans. So far Davis has scored 1, 688 points this season.
He has missed four games, meaning that his 28.1 point per game should tally 2,194 points for the season.
DeMarcus Cousins
DeMarcus Cousins is also a chance of making his own NBA history this year. If he manages to cross the 2,000 point mark this season he will join only two other players who have done it when they have changed franchises mid-season. The first player to achieve such a feat was Wilt Chamberlain in the 1964-65 season. The second player was Charlie Scott in the 1971-72 season.
Cousins has missed three games so far this season. However, his 27.2 points per game average has him on track for a tally of 2,147 points for the season.
