As the calendar flipped ,hoop heads lit up knowing with it comes the 2017 NCAA Tournament better known as March Madness. With the 68 participants locked in, now it’s time to review all the pertinent data.
In an effort to help prep fans for the 2017 NCAA Tournament bracket pools, schedule and history here’s some of the pertinent details.
2017 March Madness:
Last year’s NCAA Tournament champions Villanova and finalist North Carolina return as two of the top seeds. Joining them are Gonzaga and perennial entry Kansas. Selection Sunday put to rest the 68 team field with specific seeding of the top 60 teams.
Furthermore, another eight teams were earmarked to play in the First Four segment of the tournament which will lead to determining the 64 seeds.

This season has been described by many pundits as a year of parity within the NCAA and subsequently there is no definitive front running team. The closest favorite would be last year’s champion Villanova. Still, there are pundits who feel Kansas, Duke, UCLA or Gonzaga have the edge.
