The OKC Thunder and Houston Rockets playoff schedule is set. The showdown begins Sunday night on TNT.

Playoff basketball is officially here folks. And it seems like the NBA has deemed the Thunder/Rockets series one of the most anticipated.

The series gets underway Sunday night at 8 pm central on TNT. It’s the final game of the weekend slate, played in the primetime evening spot. In fact both teams get two days off in between games one and two; five of the eight series are set up the same way.

Here’s a look at the full schedule:

Over the next couple of days Thunderous Intentions is going to roll out more playoff coverage than you can imagine so I’ll keep this analysis short. That’s also because I still am incredibly unsure of how this series is going to play out so I want to stay away from any predictions. Here’s a few things I do know though.

More from Thunderous Intentions

The Thunder are going to have to win every home game. We know Oklahoma City struggles on the road so winning two games out of four on the road is dang near impossible for this team, even with a lackluster Rockets crowd.

  • Andre Roberson cannot get in foul trouble. I have a theory that I will wait to unveil for the massive series preview, but just know this: Roberson’s one-on-one defense is going to be the understated reason why the Thunder win this series IF it happens.
  • An unleashed Russell Westbrook is going to be fascinating. How many minutes is he going to play? Will Oklahoma City run a single set for someone other than Westbrook? Can he average 50-15-15? We will find out soon enough.
  • The dates are set, the locations are set, the television channels are to be determined. Now it’s time to have some fun.
