There are the stars you see coming and the ones you don’t. These five players, some rising stars and some unknowns, are set up to have monster NBA playoffs.

Every postseason there are a few guys that just burst onto the scene when the lights get brightest. Sometimes it’s the result of a good matchup, or the result of a season’s worth of work culminating when it matters most.

Sometimes guys are just overlooked.

The 2016-17 season was a blast and we were treated to some of the best basketball we’ve seen. Guys like Boston’s Isaiah Thomas and Milwaukee’s Giannis Antetokounmpo became household names, youngsters like Phoenix’s Devin Booker and Denver’s Nikola Jokic flashed superstar potential and established stars made #hist0ry.

Let’s hope the postseason has even more awesomeness.

If so, the next five guys will probably have something to do with it.
