Lou Williams

Lou Williams has only played one game for the Rockets against the OKC Thunder. Unfortunately that game was nothing short of amazing. He scored 31 points in 31 minutes and quite simply shot the lights out. 11-of-15 from the field, is not bad. 7-of-8 from three is not human.

Williams is a liability on defense, he does not appear to care. Making him work on that end of the court is not going to work in the same way it will for Gordon. Also, stopping Williams is hard to do in the Houston system. He will hurt you all day from three, unless you are constantly in his face.

Chasing Williams off the three point line is the only answer. Make him drive and cut off his passing lanes. Both Steven Adams and Taj Gibson are solid rim protectors. Allowing Williams to hurt you with a contested two rather than a three is preferable.

For his career, Williams is a notoriously poor passer. He averages less than three assists per game. He will back himself and appears to have the conscience of a dog on a lawn if he misses.

If Williams opponent gets into a shoot out, then the OKC Thunder will most likely lose. The Thunder need to play their offense and worry about themselves, not the opposition.
