Steven Adams: OKC Thunder Season In Review
He’s officially completed four seasons as a member of the Oklahoma City. In that time, he’s earned a loyal fanbase, grown his beard, and improved his game. But, Steven Adams still has some growing to do.
For many OKC Thunder fans, the beginning of this basketball season wasn’t particularly positive. When Kevin Durant announced his departure on Independence Day 2016, fans wondered just how this Oklahoma team would survive.
While the rest of us mourned, then 23-year-old Steven Adams may have found the silver lining. With Durant gone, Thunder GM Sam Presti acted swiftly to secure two of his top players – Adams and Victor Oladipo. That summer, Adams signed a 4-year $100 million contract extension.
Admittedly, I was over the moon. Securing my mustached crush for another four years was music to my ears, and I looked forward to watching my (second) favorite Thunder player continue to blossom on court.
