A look back at the first season with Victor Oladipo as  a member of the OKC Thunder and what he can do moving forward.

Victor Oladipo came into the Thunder only to have his expectations change drastically. Likewise, Thunder fans have had to get use to seeing a new face as part of their Big 3. Dipo’s first season has revealed numerous strengths, as well as key areas for improvements. The question is, where should he begin.

When I heard the Thunder made a trade for Victor Oladipo, my first impression was the team was getting a raw Russell Westbrook. Raw – like UCLA raw.

In UCLA, Westbrook had a reputation for being primarily a defensive bulldog who had some ability to get his shot off. Oladipo came into the league with the same reputation, and thus far, he seems to have trended in the same direction.

MUST READ: Thunder don’t need another superstar

Entering his first full season with the Thunder, Victor Oladipo has yet to figure out his role on the team. Does the team want him to be a premier 3-and-D specialist or a secondary ball-handler?

Still, Victor Oladipo has done well in his first season with the Thunder, even if the Thunder need far more from him.
