Russell Westbrook Top 10 list from historic triple-double season

Number 9: Registered Triple-Double against all but 2 teams this season (all-time only Bulls remain on his to-do list)

Although Westbrook did not register a triple-double against the Portland Trail Blazers this season he has previously. On February 27, 2015, Westbrook produced a 40 point, 13 rebounds,11 assist game to scratch the Blazers off his list.

The lone team still to be checked off his triple-double list are the Chicago Bulls. Since the Bulls are in the east Westbrook gets just two chances every season. Beastbrook came close this year on January 9, when he fell one rebound short (21 points, 9 rebounds, 14 assists).

Perhaps what makes the Bulls such a difficult task is their numerous wings who provide multiple defenders to slow Westbrook down. Further, Jimmy Butler’s length and defensive chops prove especially difficult.

No doubt each game the Thunder play the Bulls moving forward will draw special attention given they remain the lone squad on Russ’ list left to check off.
