Number 4:- Moves ahead of Wilt Chamberlain on All-Time Triple-Double List

His 79 career triple-doubles ranks fourth all-time behind Robertson (181), Magic Johnson (138), and Jason Kidd (107). Of course, surpassing Chamberlain was a huge accomplishment, but perhaps there is a more relevant measuring stick. To wit, at season start Russell Westbrook boasted 37 career triple-doubles. At the time he ranked behind Fat Lever, LeBron James, Larry Bird, and Chamberlain.

Specifically, LeBron James began the season with 42 career triple-doubles ranking 7th All-Time behind Fat Lever (43). By season end James 13 trip-dubs moved him ahead of Lever. He now needs four more to pass Bird. However, James remains ranked 7th because of Westbrook. This because Russ began the year ranked eighth, and five behind James tally. Incredibly Westbrook now has  24 more trip-dubs than James All-Time!

Although it’s never a great idea to assume similar production, it seems like a safe bet Westbrook will continue to pump out triple-doubles. To wit, he’ll need 29 more to pass Kidd and 60 to overtake Magic Johnson. Oscar Robertson remains the man to beat on the All-Time list and it will take another 103 triple-doubles to catch him

Of all the records Westbrook has smashed along his way this All-Time record will be the most difficult to catch. Fortunately, Russ at 28 will have ample years to reach this mark.
