Reviewing Alex Abrines’ rookie season with the Thunder

Abrines’ top highlights
This is going to be fun.
When Abrines gets up like this I personally leave whatever room I’m in for at least 30 seconds. He’s a fairly good athlete, which gives me reason to believe he can turn into an average defender once he puts on a few more pounds of muscle.
Every now and then Abrines makes a good defensive read, another reason why I believe he’ll figure it out on that end of the floor. He’s got a long wingspan which gives him the ability to recover the way he did on Tyreke Evans’ spin move.
But we’re not here to see Alex Abrines make defensive plays.
Remember that magical time when we all questioned whether or not Abrines should be in the starting lineup over Victor Oladipo? Those were the good old days. At the end of the day he’s better suited for a role off the bench, when he could do things like this.
With an uptick in minutes next season Alex Abrines should be making a lot more of these plays next season.
