. Center. Texas. Jarrett Allen . 17. player. 89

Team Needs:

Rebounding (29th), perimeter scoring, frontcourt depth, more offensive versatility

Free Agents:

  • Michael Beasley – UFA
  • Spencer Hawes – UFA
  • Tony Snell – RFA
  • Jason Terry – UFA
  • : Greg Monroe exercised his option to remain with team

Roster Gaps:

Lost of youth in young core and solid older veteran leaders, but not much in between. TheBucks need more shooter, added bench depth particularly in the frontcourt and a guard who can run a half-court offense but is savvy enough to understand when and how to increase the tempo.

Jarrett Allen:

As for  Jarrett Allen in TI’s draft prospect preview  his skills were highlighted as:

"In truth, Allen has a ton to improve before he finds himself holding a key role on an NBA Varsity squad. Most of all, scouts are impressed by his steady growth and excited about his potential. Hence, the latter is tied to many of his genetic assets. For example, his wingspan is massive at 7’5″ (plus a quarter) ad his standing reach is 9′.2″.  Moreover, his hands may not enter the Kawhi Leonard territory, but they lean toward the larger end which is perfect for a center who’ll provide rim protection. Consequently, Allen showcased adeptness in the post as a solid pick and roll ability. As a result,  his insane standing reach and big hands makes him a perfect target as a lob finisher. Defensively, because of his genetic assets it offers a club the option to grow him into a solid rim protector. Moreover, he’s demonstrated the potential to defend out to the perimeter with his quick feet as well."

Overview:

As teams trend toward small ball, the youthful lengthy core of the Bucks is an outlier from the rest of the league. With a veritable horde of position-less players, it’s a smorgasbord of talent.  The problem is they need time to develop around the supernova that is Giannis  Antetokounmpo.  And, just as Jabari Parker and The Greek Freak were developing their own shortcode to success Parker suffered yet another debilitating knee injury.

The Bucks have been the recipients of sleeper gifts for several drafts having drafted relative unknowns who paid out big dividends.  Antetokounmpo, Malcolm Brogdon, Thon Maker to name just a few of their success stories. If Harry Giles (a previous projected top 5 talent before his knee injuries) falls into their lap perhaps it will be time to unleash the conspiracy theorists.
