Ten prospects for the Thunder to watch during the Draft

4. Terrance Ferguson, Shooting Guard
Here enters the biggest American mystery of the Draft. Terrance Ferguson chose playing professionally in Australia over taking a season at Arizona, giving NBA scouts little opportunity to watch him against his peers. What they do know, however, is there’s some serious potential with Ferguson.
The 19-year old former McDonald’s All-American is a talented shooter with elite-level athleticism, two qualities the Thunder would love to have in a young prospect. He’s already got NBA-range but finding consistency will be his biggest struggle early on in his career. Ferguson’s 38-inch vertical and transition speed would also be a nice fit alongside a Russell Westbrook offense.
Ferguson isn’t going to contribute right away. That could be a problem for a Thunder team that spent all of last season trying to develop a young roster. He’s got all the tools to be a starting shooting guard in the NBA, but it’s about finding the right situation.
Oklahoma City may be it. Ferguson grew up in Oklahoma, and his mom even said the Thunder is where she wants her son to go. He’d be back in his comfort zone with a team dedicated to putting a winning product on the floor. If Sam Presti has resigned to selecting another raw but talented player, Ferguson is the guy at #21.
