Get to know Terrance Ferguson by listening to someone who doesn’t know Terrance Ferguson

I don’t know the first thing about Terrance Ferguson. Given the fact that he played overseas instead of college, my guess is that the majority of people commenting on Terrance Ferguson don’t truly know a lot about Terrance Ferguson.

But, I’ve done my research. That means I’ve sourced his Twitter account, read profiles by people much smarter than me, and watched YouTube videos. Here’s what I now know about Terrance Ferguson:

He’s A Warriors Fan

Yup. And given that he’s only 19 and was born in Oklahoma, that likely means he’s been a Warriors fan for roughly three years now. This is not good news. He’ll say he’s happy and excited to be home in Oklahoma City, but can we really trust this guy? First game against the Warriors, Steph Curry is going to say, “I like your game” and Ferguson will be so awestruck that he’ll forget how to play basketball.

I’m deeply troubled by this. Far more troubled than I should be. But just the right amount of troubled given the current state of the NBA and the events of last year.

LeBron James Likes Him

More from Thunderous Intentions

All this means is that they share the same agent. It truly means nothing. It also means LeBron is definitely coming to OKC next year.

His Nickname is “2K”

I’m guessing it’s because he’s like a video game. That’s cute. We have Russell Westbrook. He’s already a video game. Maybe, if he’s lucky, he’ll earn the nickname “Jam” in a few years. Until then, Ferguson better change his nickname to “Live” or “Action” or “Barkley Shut Up and Jam” because “2K” is reserved for the best.

He Can Dunk

That’s some elite level dunking. The dunk battles in practice between Jerami Grant and Ferguson will be a lot of fun. Maybe, Ferguson will be in the dunk contest. I really hope being in the dunk contest isn’t his career highlight.

He’s Going To Wear #23

Does he want to be LeBron James? Michael Jordan? Dion Waiters? Is selecting the inverse of 32 a sign that Blake Griffin is coming to OKC? We should all ponder these questions over the next week or so.

He’s Supposed To Be a 3-And-D Guy

It’s probably not good when your 3-And-D project shot 31 percent from three and weighs 185 pounds. He just turned 19 so, hopefully, he adds muscle to go along with his athleticism. His shooting form looks smooth, which is a good start as well. I’m just a little skeptical that a 3-and-D guy didn’t shoot well from three and gets bullied on defense.

I don’t know how Ferguson will turn out. He might be back in Australia in three years. He might be an All-Star in five years. He’ll probably end up being pretty decent and joining the Warriors the first chance he gets.
