Thunder in the news: Oladipo progress, KD speaks
By Tony Heim
Thunder in the news provides OKC Thunder fans with a daily stop to keep up-to-date with their favorite team.
We are only two days away from free agency; doesn’t it feel like we’re already a week into it? Chris Paul is now a Rocket, Paul George is yet to be a non-Pacer and Golden State is still Golden State. But we’re here to talk about one team and one team only: the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Oladipo has his priorities set this summer
Brett Dawson from The Oklahoman got a chance to speak with Victor Oladipo during the NBA Awards Show on Monday night. Most notably they talked about the famous Instagram post that has Thunder fans giddy.
"Oladipo was noticeably slimmer when he walked down the red carpet on Monday and stepped on stage as teammate Russell Westbrook accepted the NBA Most Valuable Player Award. The change is the result of “a lot of stuff,” Oladipo said.“A lot of working out, just taking care of my body,” he said. “Yoga, boxing, and then I got a chef down in Florida. I’m doing whatever it takes to improve myself and get ready for next year.”"
KD congratulates Russell Westbrook
I wonder. I really wonder if Kevin Durant congratulated everybody in an attempt to congratulate Russ without getting too much attention. Who knows. Either way it’s a good gesture from the guy that ruined the NBA. Daily Thunder has the full story.
"Russell Westbrook has received a lot of praise in the wake of winning his first MVP award, but one former teammate’s congratulatory message is sure to make plenty of news — Kevin Durant of the Golden State Warriors. In a comment on his YouTube channel, Durant sent well wishes to all of last night’s award winners. Of course that included Westbrook, his running mate in Oklahoma City for eight seasons. The two have shared a contentious relationship since Durant bolted from the Thunder last summer, but that didn’t stop the Finals MVP from sharing some positive thoughts on the newly-crowned league MVP."
Thunder could benefit from Chris Paul trade
Shoutout Thunderous Intentions’ own Joshua Lea for showing the NBA world how Chris Paul-to-the-Rockets could ultimately help Oklahoma City.
"The Thunder have two days to convince the Clippers of making a similar move with Griffin as they did with Paul. One thing is absolute, the Oklahoma City Thunder are probably more active in trades and free agency than we will ever know. However, silence is golden for the organization. It’s simply how they move and operate.I would expect for the Thunder to at least feel out the Clippers and see if they are interested in any players the Thunder could offer in a sign-and-trade deal with LA. The most likely way the Thunder can land Griffin is a sign-and-trade deal."
