Doug McDermott

The 11th pick in the 2014 NBA draft has one more season on a rookie scale deal before hitting restricted free agency. McDermott showed flashes of his offensive potential during his first two months with the Thunder.

MUST READ: This season will define Russell Westbrook’s legacy

A career 39 percent three-point shooter, McDermott will be able to help the Thunder spread the floor allowing Westbrook to attack the rim and facilitate the offense. He has been shaky on defense for sure, but there is potential for him to improve, especially off the ball. This will come with increased familiarity with the Thunder’s defensive system.

Presti loves controllable contracts like McDermott’s, so its hard to see someone the Thunder traded for potentially given away for nothing.
