# 3. Derek Fisher – Point Guard.
Little Rock Arkansas, stand Up! My hometown hero Derek Fisher is the number three player on the Thunder’s all-time bench squad. The University of Arkansas Little Rock product came to the Oklahoma City Thunder after winning five NBA Championships with the Los Angeles Lakers. Fisher was a mentor to “he who must not be named” and Russell Westbrook.
In the two seasons that Fisher played for the Thunder his numbers on the court weren’t mind-blowing. In fact, they were below his normal average. What Fisher provided was that veteran leadership that Oklahoma City needed for its two budding superstars.
Nowadays Fisher is in and out of the news for a recent DUI and his everlasting beef with Matt Barnes. He also is known for his failed attempt at coaching the New York Knicks under Phil Jackson in 2014. It’s actually kind of sad to see an NBA player of Fisher’s caliber becoming a virtual punchline in NBA circles.
