Thunder in the news is an OKC Thunder fans dream – a daily post dedicated to finding the best Oklahoma City content around the web.

Holly molly does NBA.com love the Oklahoma City Thunder. I honestly can’t believe it – the Thunder are justifiably getting praised by the national media. I’m so excited about it we need to jump right into it.

OKC ranked fifth in Schuhmann power rankings

Our first praise comes from John Schuhmann, one of NBA.com’s lead analysts. Not only did The Schuh rank Oklahoma City in the top five teams in the league, he put them one spot ahead of the reigning Eastern Conference champion.

The key is how Russell Westbrook and Paul George mesh together; obviously Schuhmann thinks it’s going to work well.

"George might complement Russell Westbrook better than you think."

OKC ranked third in Aldridge offseason rankings

Next up is David Aldridge, a friend of John’s at NBA.com. Aldridge recently unveiled the final section of his three-part offseason series: the top 10 teams of the offseason. The Thunder find themselves in at number #3 on that list, only behind Golden State (sad but true) and Boston (don’t know if I agree). You could argue other teams should be ahead of Oklahoma City, but we’ll take the top three ranking any day.

"Nobody — nobody — had OKC as a potential trade partner for Indiana, which is just the way GM Sam Presti likes it."

Top five reserves in Thunder history

All day we’ve talked projections – now it’s time to look to the past. Josh Lea reaches deep and picks his top five bench players in OKC history.

The Thunder’s bench is fairly strong this upcoming season, but you’ll have to click this link to find out if anybody makes the list.

"The Oklahoma City Thunder at times have had a strong bench. They’ve also at times had an extremely thin bench."
