The NBA prematurely made public three OKC Thunder games for the upcoming season – we’ll find out the rest Monday evening.

Rejoice! We’re a little over two months until the NBA is back in action. The Association is celebrating by releasing the full schedule for all 30 teams on Monday at 5 P.M. (CT).

Just last week the league announced the Opening Week nationally-televised games as well as the Christmas Day games. The season starts on the 17th when the Cleveland Cavaliers play the Boston Celtics and the Golden State Warriors play the Houston Rockets.

More from Thunderous Intentions

The Oklahoma City Thunder then get their season underway two days later (October 19th) when the New York Knicks come to town for a nationally televised game. The Thunder also had two other games that went public: on December 7th they travel to Mexico City to play the Brooklyn Nets and on Christmas Day (December 25th) they host the Rockets.

Depending how you look at it, the fact Oklahoma City and Golden State aren’t meeting on one of these two dates is sad. The Thunder re-tooled to compete with the Warriors yet they still were beaten out by Houston for opening night. On the bright side, the Knicks should provide an easy first win. Especially if Carmelo Anthony is suiting up for the Thunder.

This is excellent marketing by Adam Silver and the NBA. Roll out the most important games first, give people a few days to digest the information, then hit them with the full course meal.
