Top 5 OKC Thunder Rookie Selections in franchise history
No. 4- Eric Bledsoe
Many people don’t realize that Eric Bledsoe’s career started as a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The Thunder selected Bledsoe with the 18th overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft. His tenure in OKC didn’t last long, as he was traded as part of a Draft Day trade to the Los Angeles Clippers.
Bledsoe spent his first three seasons as the Clippers backup point guard, averaging 6.7 points-per-game in 197 games. A trade to the Phoenix Suns gave Bledsoe an opportunity to be a starter, a role that he would ultimately thrive in.
Since joining the Suns, Bledsoe has developed into a very effective starting point guard. In four seasons in Phoenix, the 27-year-old has averaged 18.8 points and six assists per game. He set career-highs in both categories during the 2016-2017 season.
Although he never wore a Thunder uniform, Bledsoe still ranks among one of the top players the organization has selected in the NBA Draft.
