Thunder in the news is an OKC Thunder fan’s dream – a daily one stop shop for the best Oklahoma City content around the web.

Woah…it finally happened. The Cavaliers and Celtics made a blockbuster of a deal last night. The news is so big we have to take time away from the Thunder to talk about this one.

Kyrie Irving traded to Boston Celtics

Just because were a Thunder site doesn’t mean were not going to cover the biggest news of the NBA offseason. Two Eastern Conference Finals rivals swapped their All-Star point guards in what could be the least-effecting trade in NBA history.

Although Boston got the better player, the Cavaliers arguably improved their team. At the same time, the Celtics set themselves up for a post-LeBron world with a Kyrie-Gordon Hayward-Al Horford Big Three. It’s an interesting trade with loads of ramifications; it be impossible to discuss it all here.

"The Boston Celtics have acquired All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving from the Cleveland Cavaliers for point guard Isaiah Thomas, forward Jae Crowder, center Ante Zizic and Brooklyn’s 2018 unprotected first-round pick, the teams announced Tuesday night."

Michael Winger officially accepts Clippers job

The Thunder officially lost one of their top executives today. The Clippers offered their GM spot to Winger a few days ago, and according to Woj, they reached a deal on Wednesday. Sam Presti is still in house though so we’re good Thunder Nation.

"Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reported early Wednesday that Michael Winger has reached an agreement to become the new General Manager of the Los Angeles Clippers."

Terrance Ferguson gets hype from fellow rookies

This made me really excited. We know relatively nothing about the 19-year old from Oklahoma, but this gives us insight into his potential. Ferguson was named the third best shooter and the second best athlete by the 2017 rookie class. Now lets hope he turns that potential into reality.

"We do know two things though: he’s uber-athletic and can shoot. His fellow rookies tend to agree."
