Welcome to Thunder in the news, your one stop shop for everything OKC Thunder basketball. Today we pay homage to Russell Westbrook.
It doesn’t take much for Russell Westbrook to dominate the headlines nowadays. It’s August and Kyrie Irving talk is wearing down – it only took a matter of time until the entire state of Oklahoma realized Westbrook has yet to sign his extension. Royce Young only expedited that process.
No answer on Westbrook’s extension
I’ll be honest with you. This isn’t necessarily “news.” It definitely should not have blown up like it has. We’ve known the Thunder offered Russ the super-max nearly two months ago. We also know he hasn’t signed it. The one piece of meaningful information Young did share, however, is that Westbrook hasn’t said the words “no.”
I guess that’s kinda cool.
"The deadline is the last day before the regular season starts — Oct. 16 — and with each passing day, the anxiety builds in OKC."
The Great Debate: Westbrook or Curry
Now we’re talking something meaningful. Depending on who you talk to, the best point guard alive debate is a doozy. Warriors fans obviously side with Curry while Thunder fans maintain Russ’ dominance; that’s why we need an unbiased source.
I won’t ruin the fun of the article. But I will say this: I agree with everything Dan Favale had to say less one thing. Curry is not a better “lone wolf” player than Russ.
"Stephen Curry. Russell Westbrook. Who ya got as the better player entering 2017-18?"
Russ’ best fashion tips…from a random blogger
Who better to give fashion advice then Jeremy Lambert? If you’re an avid reader of Thunderous Intentions you know Lambert has a knack for bold, hilarious proclamations. I have to say, this one might be his best.
"Russell Westbrook is releasing style book on Sep. 5, proving that you can’t be an NBA superstar with big time endorsements playing in Oklahoma City."
