Thunder in the news is an OKC Thunder fan’s dream – a daily post dedicated to finding the best content about their favorite NBA team.

What’s up Thunder Nation? While some NBA players are busy taking shots at teams through their personal shoes, some are actively working to help those distressed by Hurricane Harvey. Naturally it’s an Oklahoma City player doing the latter.

Enes Kanter helps out the people of Houston

I’m patiently waiting for the day Enes Kanter wins an NBA Humanitarian Award. Although Kanter is a Swiss-born Turkish player who’s never played a home game in Texas, the 25-year old made a big donation to Houston and other Hurricane Harvey victims.

This wasn’t a publicity move – Kanter didn’t announce it via his Twitter. In fact, he made a video urging others to go to his website and donate. Kanter didn’t even mention his charitable act:

Keep making the world a better place Enes Kanter. We need more people like you.

Steven Adams discusses Paul George

On a lighter note, Kanter’s fellow Stache Bro is still on his annual tour of New Zealand. A reporter finally asked him about the Paul George acquisition. Of course, Adams had some hilarious things to say.

"Steven Adams just sees a “good dude” who has what it takes to fit into his new home."

Kevin Durant’s cupcake shoes

It’s time for Kevin Durant to pick what side he’s on. Yesterday Durant released a new version of his KDX – it’s called the Red Velvet edition. My cohort Tamberlyn Richardson details how this is a direct shot at Oklahoma City and the cupcake mantra. I only have one thing to say: Durant’s got to figure out if he wants to be a hero or a villain in OKC. In 10 years this mess should be behind us, but right now he’s taking all the wrong steps to making this relationship amicable.

"By launching his new shoe and surrounding it with numerous cupcakes with bites out of them it’s sending a strong message there is still resentment."
