Thunder in the news: Westbrook appears on Jimmy Fallon tonight
By Tony Heim
Thunder in the news is an OKC Thunder fans dream – a daily post dedicated to finding the best Oklahoma City content around the web.
Happy Monday Thunder Nation! Today is a somber day in the United States – it’s the anniversary of the Twin Tower attacks and the destruction from hurricane season continues down south. If you or your loved ones have been/are affected, you’re in our thoughts here at Thunderous Intentions.
Hopefully this little post can help take your mind off everything. Let’s get to it.
Russell Westbrook visits Jimmy Fallon
If you’ve never had reason to watch late night television, now you do. Russell Westbrook appears on Jimmy Fallon’s show tonight (Monday, September 11th). He’s continuing his global tour, this week in New York City for fashion week. Russ continues to showcase how difficult it is to be a star in small market Oklahoma City.
"Westbrook is making a routine of appearing on late-night talk shows. He appeared on Fallon’s show before last season, and has made multiple appearances on the Jimmy Kimmel Show."
How will the Thunder define success this season?
You know the NBA season is approaching when NBA.com rolls out their “30 teams in 30 days” series. Shaun Powell broke down the Thunder offseason on Sunday, highlighting what it’s going to take for Westbrook and Paul George to mesh in only one season together. They play differing styles – on paper the pairing should work perfectly.
"So, expect plenty of Westbrook-to-George baskets, and if that cuts into the 31 points Westbrook averaged last season, so be it."
Issuing Kobe challenges to Thunder players
The “Kobe Challenge” has been one of the best/most surprising stories of the NBA offseason. Now that Kobe isn’t playing in the NBA anymore it’s only right that he finds a way to stay relevant. Seeing that Kobe hasn’t publicly addressed an OKC Thunder player, Thunderous Intentions’ own Austin Sternlicht takes matters into his own hands. Austin’s best challenge? My guy Jerami Grant.
"Bryant hasn’t issued challenges to any OKC Thunder players yet. This certainly doesn’t mean certain OKC players shouldn’t have ambitious goals for the upcoming season."
Thanks again for reading! Check back again tomorrow, and the next day, and every day after that for another edition of Thunder in the news!
