Draft Rights to Domantas Sabonis (No. 11 Overall Pick)

On draft night, the Thunder parted ways with one of their longest tenured players.

Serge Ibaka will always be considered a very important part of the Thunder franchise. He played a major role in the development and growth of the organization, and was a steady contributor for some very good Thunder teams.

However, the end of his tenure didn’t end on the right note. Just a year away from free agency, there were reports that Ibaka was unhappy with his role on the team. At the time, it appeared that Ibaka would sign elsewhere once he hit the free agent market.

Instead of losing the forward in free agency, Presti struck a deal to get some valuable assets for him. At the time, no one knew that the players acquired would be valuable trade chips for the franchise.

Ilyasova played in just three games with the Thunder. He was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers for Jerami Grant, who has found a nice home in OKC.

Oladipo and Sabonis each spent one full season with the Thunder. As a starter, Oladipo averaged 15.9 points-per-game in 67 games. Sabonis averaged 5.9 points-per-game, but saw his role diminish towards the end of the season.

Oladipo and Sabonis were once again traded this past summer. You’re going to have to continue reading to find out for who!
