Thunder in the news is an OKC Thunder fan’s dream – a daily post dedicated to finding the best content around the web about their favorite team.

What’s up Thunder Nation, sorry for the delay today. Life got in the way this morning and then, well, I forgot I didn’t post for a few hours. Anyways, we’re here now. Russell Westbrook’s new Jordan Brand extension is the biggest news in the NBA – thanks offseason – so that’s what we’re going to start with.

Westbrook’s Jordan decision and how it actually is “news”

Who knew a ten-year endorsement deal could get so much play in the news? Websites, including Yahoo Sports, all over discussed what the move could mean for his contract situation with OKC – personally I don’t think it affects it all that much. Russ is going to do what he wants to do, no matter how much money he has or what city he’s playing in.

"…suddenly the $53.5 million discrepancy between a super-max extension from OKC and the four-year, $153.5 million deal he could command as a free agent next summer isn’t all that difference-making."

The MVP continues his media tour

New York Fashion Week is over, but Russell Westbrook is still in New York City. Westbrook appeared on the Good Morning America show Wednesday morning – you can check out the full video below. If you enjoyed his Fallon appearance you’ll like this one too.

Thunder re-hire Rob Hennigan for front office

It appears Sam Presti has found his replacement for Michael Griffin, the new GM for the LA Clippers. Presti and the Thunder brought back Rob Hennigan yesterday after he was fired from the Orlando Magic (and rightfully so). My partner Tamberlyn Richardson reviewed his time in OKC and Orlando, and how his addition will help the Thunder in some capacity.

"For Hennigan this is a return to a franchise he knows well. Hennigan spent four seasons in OKC with the final two as Assistant General Manager under Sam Presti."
