Thunder Career Stats:

2008-present: 22.7 points, 7.9 assists, 6.2 rebounds, 34.1 minutes (668 games)

Russell Westbrook is the greatest point guard in Thunder history by an extremely wide margin. He has meant a great deal to the Oklahoma City Thunder organization and has been a part of all of the major moments in franchise history.

More from Thunderous Intentions

Russ was drafted from UCLA in 2008 and not many people thought he would play well at the point guard spot. He immediately snatched the starting gig just 17 games into the season and never looked back. He became an all-star in 2011 and helped lead the Thunder to the finals in 2012.

Russ hit an injury wall in the 2013 playoffs (thanks Patrick Beverley) and missed the rest of the postseason and 36 games in the 2014 season. His other injuries included breaking a bone in his hand and facial surgery in 2015. In total, Westbrook only missed 15 games from those injuries, but came back better than ever. He had 11 triple doubles and won the scoring title.

Last season, Russ proved all the critics wrong who thought he could not be the leader of the Thunder organization. He broke the triple-double record (42), won another scoring title, and was awarded the NBA’s Most Valuable Player.
