Players from all 30 teams revealed the new Nike designed NBA  ‘Statement’ jersey series in Los Angeles.

This is the third of four new jersey editions the league and Nike have designed for the coming season. Previously the NBA presented the Association and Icon Edition series. Decisions on which jerseys will be worn are to be determined by home teams.

Technology Meets Fashion:

More from Thunderous Intentions

Technology has been utilized to the nth degree in the design of these new uniforms. Fans in particular will benefit from an embedded chip.

By downloading the smartphone NikeConnect app  fans can selecte a player and gain access footage of pregame arrival, highlight reels and that player’s favorite musical play list.

Pretty cutting edge stuff to bring the fan closer to the in game inexperience.

OKC Thunder on ‘Statement’ series:

In their release the OKC Thunder commented on the new Statement series:

"The lead design element of the uniform is the “OKC” on the chest, boldly set in Thunder sunset against the uniform’s primarily navy background. On the back, Thunder blue and navy alternate in tone-on-tone stripes, evoking an image of sound waves. The concept of the uniform is inspired by Thunder fans’ reputation as Loud City, illustrating the roar of the Chesapeake Energy Arena crowd as it engages in its signature “O-K-C!” chant."

Paul George Models:

In a bit of poetic justice Paul George was the lucky member of the OKC Thunder who served as model for the reveal in LA.  Perhaps a subtle message from the Thunder to LA fans ie: Don’t get used to seeing him in anything else.

Statement jerseys will be worn on a minimum of seven occasions at Chesapeake Energy Arena and could also be worn in road games. The first occasion Thunder Nation will see them is November 24 when OKC play host to the Detroit Pistons.
