Russell Westbrook appeared as a guest on the Ellen DeGeneres Show on Thursday September 21.

It’s been a busy offseason for Russell Westbrook as he collected copious awards, welcomed new teammates, worked on his game, published a style book and reveled in becoming a first time father to son Noah.

On Thursday he continued his appearances to promote his book Style Drivers as a guest on Ellen DeGeneres. Prior to Westbrook coming on stage Ellen described him as one of the most talented and most generous. Then a film introduction ran including play highlights, LeBron James and Michael Jordan speaking about  him, parts of his MVP speech and segments of him giving away things tied to his Why Not Charity.

Russell Westbrook danced onto the stage wearing a  black and cream striped shirt and short with a black fedora type hat.

Asked how long it took for him to get ready for the show, Westbrook replied it took him an hour and ten minutes because he had to spend some time with Noah.

His book has been highly successful and DeGeneres highlighted some of his outfits she was partial to (more on this in a bit).

DeGeneres spoke of “Style Drivers” Westbrook’s foray into publishing which promotes the blending of trend setters in fashion, culture, music and sports.   Westbrook said the book was meant to examine fashion evolving, get style drivers from across the world looking at music, art and fashion. Westbrook says it’s been very successful. Ellen told Russell she loves it and has the book in her office.

Gift for Noah:

More from Thunderous Intentions

It’s common for Ellen to gift her guests. She gave Westbrook a unique offering.  Three separate outfits to match the ones she showed on the big screen earlier in the show.  Westbrook was very touched by the uniqueness of the gift and his huge smile told he story.

The only unfortunate part of the gift is Westbrook confirmed earlier he only wears his outfits once. Afterwards, he gifts them to friends or drops them at Good Will. Odds are he’ll be wishing he kept these three specific outfits. How cute would it be to see Russ and Noah sporting the exact same outfits? Still, there are pictures of Russ so they could take some of Noah and post them together.

Westbrook’s appearance on Ellen marks his third major talk show to promote his book. His earlier stints included Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel.
