Player Grades

OKC Starting Rotation

A+. . PG. Oklahoma City Thunder. RUSSELL WESTBROOK

It felt like Westbrook was hardly in the game. This was indicative of the kind of game he had, where he still had a near triple double of 12 points (5-12 FG, 0-2 3PT, 2-3 FT), 10 rebounds and 9 assists in 27 minutes. He and Adams have fantastic chemistry and their two man game is something to watch. After averaging 5.5 turnovers per game, Russ took care of the ball and only registered 2 TO’s tonight. He was fantastic and showed why he is one of the best guards in the league.

A+. . SF. Oklahoma City Thunder. PAUL GEORGE

Like Westbrook, PG was consistently great tonight. He and Dre made Antetokounmpo work for every point tonight and showed that he is an elite two-way player. PG also had some spectacular moves on offense  – OKC is beginning to take advantage of his ability to play in isolation. George finished with 20 points (8-17 FG, 4-8 3PT) , 3 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 block in 29 minutes.

A+. . PF. Oklahoma City Thunder. CARMELO ANTHONY

Melo taught Giannis a thing or two on offense. Donovan interestingly played him with the second unit and he got whatever shot he wanted. Melo had a spectacular highlight on Antetokounmpo that drew oooh’s and ahhhh’s from the Milwaukee crowd. Although he didn’t finished it (should have been goal-tending), Melo showed the NBA that he is revitalized and still has it. He finished with 17 points (6-14 FG, 1-3 3PT, 4-5 FT) and 8 rebounds in 26 minutes.

STEVEN ADAMS. A+. . C. Oklahoma City Thunder

He manhandled the Bucks down low. He moved Henson and Maker like they were made of feathers and punished the rim on multiple possessions. Westbrook and Adams two man game is beautiful to watch with the Big Kiwi finally taking that step we thought was coming last year. He out-rebounded both Milwaukee’s big men by himself en-route to his second double-double of the season. He finished with 14 points (7-10 FG) and 11 rebounds in 17 minutes.

SG. Oklahoma City Thunder. ANDRE ROBERSON. A+.

Oh how good is it to be Dre? After many fans shamelessly called for him to be dropped from the starting unit, Roberson did a great job – on both ends. He kept Antetokounmpo very quiet all game and Donovan integrated him superbly into the offense. Most importantly, Dre HIT FREE THROWS. It was a terrific rebound game for Roberson that reminded fans just what he brings to the table. He had another undercover MVP game. He finished with 9 points (3-7 FG, 1-5 3PT, 2-2 FT) and 3 rebounds in 26 minutes.
