OKC Thunder In the news for November 17 features a trilogy of Russell Westbrook news items.

Enes Kanter gives Westbrook props:

OKC Thunder may have a favorite son in Russell Westbrook, but former player Enes Kanter will always hold a special place in Thunder Nation hearts. Recalling last season when a certain Warriors center stood over Westbrook there were ample lessons learned from that one incident. To wit, in future meetings Kanter was quick to jump up and have Westbrook’s backup whether it was via physical or verbal confrontation.

Kanter has brought the same team loyalty to his new squad. The center credits his former captain  Westbrook for teaching him the valuable lesson. Clutch Points scribe Bruno Manrique details the story.

"The Turkish international learned his lesson quickly upon being traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder, quickly getting the notes from star point guard Russell Westbrook that his days of friendliness with opponents had come to an end."

Here’s the quote from Kanter:

"“I remember I was in OKC and I was saying hi to a couple of my (ex)-teammates and I was getting yelled at, cussed at by Russell,’’ Kanter said, according to Marc Berman of The New York Post. “Because he’s got the same mentality. Whenever you step on that court, you try to kill them. We’ve got to bring the same thing here.”"

Ink reflects Westbrook masterpiece:

Speaking of Westbrook he joins the likes of Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant and James Harden in terms of tattoos Steve Butcher has inked.

Westbrook ‘Honor the Gift’ line sells out in 24-hours:

More from Thunderous Intentions

Sticking with Westbrook we move from his effect on court and in art to his own passion for fashion. Westbrook’s fashion interest is well documented with visits to Paris and New York Fashion Week.  His foray into publishing also hit the shelves with this years Style Drivers fashion book.

Although the enigmatic point guard has presented capsule collections previously he had yet to present a full collection.  That changed this week as Westbrook launched his Honor the Gift line.  Like most things the super star sets his mind to, the line proved to be an overwhelming success selling out in under 24-hours.

The budding fashion designer showed the collection at an automotive shop in Oklahoma City.

Crystal Tate of Essence highlights the particulars of the event, noting a full collection will be available online next week.

"Although all of pieces sold out at Westbrook’s pop-up in Oklahoma City, the full collection, which features neon t-shirts, striped sweatpants and more, will be available on November 22 at honorthegift.co."

This concludes today’s In the news for November 17. Enjoy the start of your weekend and make sure to check back with Thunderous Intentions as the team keeps you posted on your favorite players and team.
