Game day preview breaks down OKC Thunder versus their nemesis Kevin Durant and his Golden State Warriors in the first game of four this season.

If the OKC Thunder have another opponent who serves up as much angst or hyperbole you’ll be hard pressed to find it. Thunder Nation clearly looks forward to this matchup, but it has yet to live up to the desired pregame build up.

Last season a photographer bib, ‘the return’ and Zaza Pachulia provided additional fodder to feast upon. Still, the squad we all know is sitting atop Russell Westbrook’s hit list has yet to offer the payout on expectations. Golden State won each meeting last season and by a wide margin (average win margin 19.5 points).

Earlier this season OKC beat the Knicks and Pacers – the two former teams of Carmelo Anthony and Paul George.  It’s common for a former player to want to beat his previous squad and while Westbrook has always been with the Thunder this Warriors team is as close to an equivalent as the OK3 will find.
