OKC Thunder In the news for November 24 reflects on the  statement win over Golden State and looks forward to whether this ignites a turning point.

For the OKC Thunder the victory of the Golden State Warriors will only award a single ‘w’ in the win column.  Yet, this victory was so much more for the Thunder and the OK3.  It represented the first time this season all three of the super stars produced a quality outing on the same night. By beating the existing champions it provides a potential hint at just how good this squad can be. And, perhaps it can allow the Thunder to finally play with more freedom as they move forward.

OKC have already beat the former teams of Carmelo Anthony and Paul George. Although Russell Westbrook is still with his drafting team, the victory over the Warriors represents the team most likely sitting at the top of his wish list.  What this tells Thunder Nation is when the OK3 play under extra duress they produce at a higher rate. Considering this the playoffs should be a ton of fun as the trio will undoubtedly be extremely passionate about winning then.

More from Thunderous Intentions

The key for the OKC Thunder moving forward is to utilize this win as a benchmark and build from it. If they can beat the existing title holders so soundly there shouldn’t be a team int he Association who they can’t do the same thing to.

With that let’s take another moment to savor the amazing win in today’s  In the news column.

Russell Westbrook played like the MVP:

NBA.com spent plenty of time looking at the win and discussing the merits of it both in print and on TV.

Anyone who saw last night’s matchup between the Warriors and Thunder in Oklahoma City could tell guard Russell Westbrook was more than ready for this one for a number of reasons. The Thunder star and reigning Kia MVP was looking to get his team on track after a two-game skid. He wanted to show off his new teammates — Paul George and Carmelo Anthony — against his old rival. And, of course, he wanted another crack at former teammate Kevin Durant, too.

Clearly OKC Thunder fans were elated by the win as it was something everyone coveted since Durant chose to exit two summers ago. Even former players celebrated the victory (man- how can you not adore Enes Kanter?) https://twitter.com/Enes_Kanter/status/933543083467313152

Salty much KD?

Following the game Kevin Durant looked to be channeling hoodie Melo as he responded to the media throng with a pretty salty attitude. It’s rather amusing KD denied having any confrontation with Westbrook during the game.

5 Takeaways from OKC Thunder win over Warriors:

I’m not sure there is a more passionate, committed OKC Thunder fan than our very own Tony Heim. Yet, in spite of his pure joy over the win he was able to highlight areas of the game where the OKC Thunder can still improve moving forward.

"A beatdown of the Warriors – or any top-tier team for that matter – was exactly what this Thunder team needed. The first 16 games of the season were defined by inconsistent play, lost leads and crunch-time breakdowns. While OKC didn’t necessarily solve any of these problems, they gave themselves a blueprint for what their brand of basketball can be for 48 minutes. Now it’s about building on this momentum. Will Paul George and Carmelo Anthony give up some of the reigns to Russell Westbrook for good? Will Billy Donovan continue to toy with his rotations? These are only a couple of the questions we’re going to explore in the next five takeaways."
