After last night’s victory OKC Thunder in the News is back and better than ever. The team is far from figuring things out, but a 17-point comeback gives us a little hope moving forward.

You feel that Thunder Nation? That euphoric sensation in your body is hope. The first 22 games of the season we’re dispiriting. Sure, there were moments that made us perk up, but nothing screamed immense improvement. While last night’s come-from-behind victory wasn’t the flawless 48 minutes we’ve been waiting for, it certainly gave Oklahoma City evidence that they can play together effectively when it matters. Who cares if it only took 23 games?

The reason why Steven Adams is starting to flourish

It’s no coincidence that this three-game Thunder win streak coincides with Steven Adams’ best three-game stretch of his career. Billy Donovan spoke on that matter last night, crediting OKC’s two newest stars for his success. The added offensive talent gives Adams more space to work with in the paint, but that shouldn’t take away from the work the Big Kiwi has put in.

"The center is averaging 22 points per game on nearly 80 percent shooting during OKC’s three-game winning streak."

A completely different opinion on Carmelo

While Donovan went out of his way to praise Melo’s influence, others see how the former Knick has hurt the Thunder. That’s certainly been the case prior to this three-game win streak. In the last three games, however, Melo has been much better.

The Ringer’s Jason Concepcion discussed how Carmelo’s three alter egos have defined his career. More importantly, how a potential fourth altar ego may be manifesting itself: Role-Player Melo.

"Olympic Melo is a champion. Hoodie Melo is a trendsetter. Now Carmelo is just the guy who’s f****** up the Thunder."

My player grades from last night’s victory

I’m going to keep this short and sweet. You’ve gotten a few of my thoughts from last night’s W. If you’re interested in the full breakdown, check out my player grades/recap/thoughts. Let me know where I went wrong, where I went right and where I could have done better. Because like the Thunder, there’s always room for improvement.

"The Thunder started the game like a team that didn’t care about the outcome, yet ended like a team fighting as if it was an elimination game."
