OKC Thunder vs Brooklyn Nets - Mexico City
MEXICO CITY, MEXICO – DECEMBER 6: Carmelo Anthony /

As the OKC Thunder head south of the border to Mexico City a special edition of TIP3 serves up some great insight on the Brooklyn Nets prior to the tip.

TIP3 today dives into three questions on the Brooklyn Nets leading up to their match with the  OKC Thunder. Adding intrigue to the match, the game will be played south of the border in Mexico City.

On the cusp of finally removing the shackles the Brooklyn Nets have been weighed down by in the past five seasons Head Coach Kenny Atkinson and GM Sean Marks are actively preparing for their future freedom.

This Brooklyn Nets team may well be the scrappiest in the league in terms of never giving up and making the most of the talent available.  Furthermore, Brooklyn plays a very similar game to the top teams on the opposing coast.

TIP 3 examines each game prior to the tip and asks an authority who can shed light on the opposition. Specifically, by pairing this information with TI’s pregame analysis it gives fans a full picture of what to expect prior to tip. Lending his insight for the Brooklyn Nets is Charles Maniego whose opinion is so coveted it would take an entire page to list all the sites he contributes to. Nets expert Charles Maniego weighs in:

The OKC Thunder enter on a three game win streak seeking to push their record to .500 and extend the win streak.

Notably, during the streak it appears Carmelo Anthony is the  player who has accepted taking a reduced or “different role”. This needed to happen and in some ways it’s similar to the position Kevin Garnett (Celtics) and Chris Bosh (Heat) were in when their teams formed ‘Big 3’s’.

Brooklyn could serve as an example for the OKC Thunder especially in terms of their commitment to 48 minutes of play.  While the OKC Thunder have struggled to find cohesiveness offensively the Nets excel through ball and player movement.  Hey, what a novel idea. Seriously though, it does seem like OKC are started to figure out the offense and those early season glimpses are extending into longer periods each game out. Still, they’ll be in for a battle versus the scrappy, offensive minded Nets and can’t afford to take this team for granted.

With that let’s dive in to TIP3 for tonight’s game…
