OKC Thunder return from Mexico City with a burn not received in the sun seeking to get back on track versus the reeling Memphis Grizzlies. TIP3 talks to Beale St. Bears site expert to get insight prior to the tip.

TIP3 today dives into three questions on the Memphis Grizzlies leading up to their match with the  OKC Thunder. Both squads are experiencing growing pains as they attempt to assimilate major roster shifts and stay relevant.

If you are a regular Thunderous Intentions reader you’ll know TIP 3 examines each game prior to the tip and asks an authority who can shed light on the opposition. Specifically, by pairing this information with TI’s pregame analysis it gives OKC Thunder fans a full picture of what to expect prior to tip. Lending insight for the Memphis Grizzlies is FanSided Affiliate Beale Street Bears site expert Parker Fleming.

Grizzlies site expert Parker Fleming weighs in:

The OKC Thunder enter the night once more on the hot seat for a bad loss to the Brooklyn Nets.  More questions are bubbling away about the lack of offensive cohesion, lineup rotations and whether Carmelo Anthony should be starting and if so at what position.

The spotlight which briefly faded after the mini 3-game win streak abruptly resurfaced following the loss to the Nets. This mostly due to the fact that once again the OKC Thunder gave up a double digit (16 points) lead ultimately succumbing to the Nets.

For their part Memphis can relate, given they lead the Raptors Friday night by 17 points and lost by nine. Although the OKC Thunder spotlight is brighter due to the stars on the team the situation in Memphis is much more dire.  Mike Conley and Marc Gasol are both top tier talents they are already in their prime with Gasol likely trending downward.

The Grizzlies have just eight wins to show for the 24 games played  with five of those coming in the Grizzlies first six games. They enter today’s game with one win in their last 13 games, have fired the third coach in six seasons and although they speak of a new culture appear to be playing the same way – unfortunately half the players who excelled in that style are no longer on the squad. So, with two teams desperate to right the ship today offers for an intriguing matchup.

With that let’s dive in to TIP3 for tonight’s game…
