The OKC Thunder are one of the hottest teams in the NBA. Despite this, OKC remain thin on the front line and badly in need of someone to back-up Steven Adams. Is Andrew Bogut the answer?

Winners of eight  of their last 10 games, the OKC Thunder are scorching. After completing the Staples Center double of the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers, the Thunder are moving closer to the four seed. However, one of their biggest issues remain in the front court.

In the win against the Clips, OKC allowed a whopping 64 points in the paint, including 46 points in the first half. Additionally, if Adams gets in foul trouble early, the Thunder have no legitimate back-up big man.

Enter Andrew Bogut:

A two-time NBA champion, Andrew Bogut is played sparingly the past two seasons. After recovering from a tibial fracture last season, the Aussie graced the court 24 times with the Los Angeles Lakers, averaging 1.5 points and 3.3 rebounds in nine minutes per game. Bogut was originally signed as a mentor, but still expected to play some minutes on a young Lakers team. Instead, he has virtually sat the entire season.

Although his numbers aren’t game changing contributions, the 33-year-old does a lot of the little things stat sheets overlook. He may be three or four years removed from his prime but Bogut still has plenty to offer a contending roster.

Lets take a look at how he would benefit OKC.
